"...For me, Ladino is the ancient tunes and the enchanted melodies, which survived oceans of time. It's the connection of a mother who sings to her daughter. generation after another, preserving the legacy of the Sephardic Jewish people..." (text from an interview which I gave regarding my CD of Judeo-Spanish song: Ya salio de la mar)
Mediterranean column, by Amos Oren, Yediot Achronot newspaper
January 2005 :
"Ofri Eliaz in her first album “Ya Salio de la Mar”, turns geographic distance into an artistic advantage. Cut off from the local influences and not bound by emotional obligations, she gives Ladino another vision, almost as if it were a perspective from above. With the help of an ensemble which borders between world music and jazz, Eliaz designs (with the help of her musical producer Shai Bachar) Mediterranean flowing music, music which is both Oriental and cosmopolitan, like a haute couture designer who makes the optimally dresses 12 Ladino songs. The result is enchanting and intriguing. The Ladino receives a surprising twist. The title song has a Baroque quality; “Jacko” stays within the Turkish-Arabic framework (due to Omar Faruk Tekbilek), but “La Vida do por el Raki” is touched by funk. “Kuando el rey Nimrod” becomes a Balkan improvisation and “Tsur Mishelo” is free jazz. Fresh and interesting."

"Singer with a voice of honey"
Ofri Eliaz -”At This Moment”
was released in 2018 and mainly includes material which I wrote. Vered Klepter and Ilan Virtzberg composed 2 of the songs included on the CD.
In April 2019, the Israeli newspaper Globes published a warm recommendation of my CD, to go along with recommendations for the CDs by Eden Hasson, Achinoam Nini, and Ariel Horowitz. A great honor!
